2007 Musings August 27, 2007
She's here! A much anticipated arrival -little Quinn Averie.
My second grandaughter was born on August 23. In honor of her arrival a free amethyst mini-heart bead will be sent to the first 3 people to email me and mention this blog. Please state - "A heart for Quinn" in your email.
Isn't she just beautiful? I'm not prejudice or anything. Anyway that's where I've been for the last 4 days. babysitting for Zoe - Quinn's big sister who is a whopping 2years 4months old. And sitting with my daughter Cindy at the hospital. Mainly being a "gofor" (spelled it wrong on purpose if you get my drift). Cindy did great and was such a trooper. Well worth my while for a few minutes of bliss with this gorgeous baby girl and to spend some quality time with my delightful Zoe.
 I just got home and can't wait to get on the torch. I have a great bead in mind in honor of Quinn which will go on my web page as a SPECIAL - the first in a series of many I hope.
I was sooo tired I left my daughter's house before I got to see Zoe's reaction to a new baby in the house. I think when she visited at the hospital she was under the impression that this new little "toy" would just stay there and Mommy and Daddy would be home soon. Little does she know that her life as she knew it was changed forever. I wish for Zoe and Quinn the special Sister relationship that so many women have. I have 2 brothers so I'm always envious of those of you with that sister friendship.

Well I haven't updated in a while. I have been busy playing on the torch. I have some very new beads coming soon. I'll try to get some pictures up. I'll post one here first. Just a hint on my new bead - I have a client who has requested some special bicone beads and I've thought of another knock off from that with lots of sparkle and glitz.
I'm babysitting my grandaugter, Zoe, tomorrow. She's a little over two and quite a handful. It's much easier when you are the grandma. She just makes me laugh, I don't get uptight or upset. To me she is just a bundle of love. The new baby is coming August 23 so we are all getting anxious. I bought Zoe a Cabbage Patch baby to give her when the new baby comes home, so she won't feel left out.

I've been kind of blue the last few days because the ISGB conference is going on and I'm not there! Full time jobs just get in the way sometimes. I'm trying to save vacation time for my new grandbaby due August 23.
Yesterday I was at a trunk show at Creative Castle that was really fun. We were outside and Cathy and I were worried we would roast to death but there was a nice ocean breeze and it was quite pleasant. I took my camera to take pictures but the battery didn't charge so sorry no pics. I made some money, met some nice people and had a really good time. Carol who owns Creative Castle is the best hostess. I think it's the 3pm chocolate!
I spent today teaching and now have some time to myself - so I made a new but "old" bead. Thought I'd do an encased floral focal. I think it came out pretty nice. We'll see when it comes out of the kiln. I put a frog up on eBay today. A little nervous - hope it does well. He is so cute - I named him Jethro after Mark Harmon on NCIS.

I spent all day yesterday making a new bead. It's so much fun to design and play. Loved it! I've always wanted to make a frog and I made a few. Guess the little guy has evolved. I'm happy with the final result. See it on my home page! I made a few more butterfly beads which are starting to shape up as well. I'm not going to have bead time for a while. I have a real busy week ahead and a trunk show on Saturday, teaching on Sunday.

I'm back from Kansas City (don't think that's a song though). Had a good trip. I've been in the printing business for 30 years and it's always wonderful when I learn something new. Speaking of which I am home today and I'm going into the studio to make NEW beads. It's a play day for me. I've got some orders but I just need to play and I've got some super ideas cooking in the ole brain. I'll post on my home page when they are out of the kiln and photographed.

You've found my blog! I'll post my musings and bead news here. Maybe some personal news as well - I'm about to be a Grandmother for the second time next month so that is definitely newsworthy. Grandbaby #1 is just over two and she's quite a character.
I've got beads on eBay and finally have beads on my website for purchase. Please look around. I'd love for you to email me any of your comments.
I work full time and need to leave today for Kansas City. I'll be back late Monday night - I hope! Back to work on Wednesday. I'm itching to get on the torch as I have some new ideas for beads - mostly focals.Back to Articles
