Jackie Mixon has worked in graphic arts for the last 20 years. She's also been very involved in textile embellishment and sculpture. In recent years she has been making lampworked glass beads and has studied under some of the most renowned teachers in the United States: Kim Osibin, Leah Fairbanks, and Loren Stump. Working in her studio in the Santa Clarita Valley, Jackie combines sculptural techniques with drawing techniques to fashion her unique beads. Her rose bud and full bloom rose which have a very realistic feel to them are techniques that she developed herself. Jackie pulls her own cane and often uses her own garden as inspiration. Jackie does teach lampworking at local bead stores in the Los Angeles area. Her beads are available here on her web page, through her catalog or at bead shows primarily on the west coast. |
